About IAB TCF:

The TCF is a cross-industry voluntary standard that is intended to enable publishers of websites and apps (first parties) and technology partners that support the delivery, personalisation or measurement of advertising and content (third parties or vendors) to work together and provide users with a standardised experience when they make privacy choices.

TCF enables users to grant or withhold consent and also exercise their ‘right to object’ to data being processed. It includes minimum practical requirements that stems from guidelines of Data Protection Authorities and jurisprudence for informing users, providing them with privacy choices, and for respecting such choices.

Privado is an IAB TCF Compliant Consent Management Platform: CMP List

Vendors:

On selecting a domain on the dashboard, you will see a Vendors tab which lists the available vendors as registered with IAB:

You can select the vendors you work with by using the "Set Status" option to enable or disable the selected vendors:

In case you are:

  1. Not a publisher, or you

  2. Do not work with vendors, or you

  3. Do not have a Consent Policy that uses the IAB Template,

you do not need to enable or disable any "Vendors" as they are not consumed outside the IAB Consent Banner, therefore making it safe to ignore any existing or modified "Vendors" configurations.

Consent Banner:

Privado provides a default compliant "GDPR (IAB)" template. This template can be customized according to the Publisher's individual needs.

In case you wish to change or modify the text content on the banner, care must be taken to adhere by TCF v2.2 "Policy Checks" as listed here.

The default consent banner, uses certain placeholders to auto-populate values. The Preview Section replaces and reflects the actual values that will be used after the changes are saved and published.

Enable GDPR (IAB) Banner:

The default consent policies do not use the "GDPR (IAB)" banner template. To do so:

  1. Go to the "Consent Policy" tab.

  2. Create or update an existing Consent Rule to use the "GDPR (IAB)" Design Template.

  3. Save Policy.

  4. To make the changes live, "Publish" the script.

Similarly, once you have set up rules for all the regions that you want to target, just hit Save and Publish to make it live on your website.
